Having served his time as a mechanic in Watson and Hadden, Derek Loane decided in 1970 to set up a facility from his Aughnacloy home selling used vehicles and using his experience as a mechanic to offer serving and repairs.

Today the Nissan Franchise stands as evidence of the success of Derek's efforts.

The acquisition of Nissan came in 1986 as a sub dealer of the Phillips and latterly the AFG Organisations and in 1992 Derek Loane Motors became an independent Nissan dealer for the South Tyrone area of the province.

Derek Loane Motors scoops 2004 UK and World Nissan award by being awarded Top UK Dealer in Nissan sales, service and customer satisfaction. Derek Loane Motor received the award in Tokoyo Japan from Carlos Ghosn Nissan Chief Executive, again this is recognition of putting the customer first and the benifits of being a family run business.
